HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT:

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:
To support the Health & Safety policy statement Sporting Chance is committed to the following duties:
- Undertake regular, recorded risk assessment of the premises and all activities undertaken.
- Create a safe environment by putting health & safety measures in place as identified by the risk assessment.
- Ensure that all participants are allocated to the appropriate groups by regularly assessing individual age and ability.
- Ensure that all participants are aware of, understand and follow the club’s health & safety policy.
- All leaders will be made aware of the health and safety policy and will assist with health and safety responsibilities.
- Ensure that normal operating procedures and emergency operating procedures are in place and known by all stakeholders.
- Provide access to adequate first aid facilities, telephone and qualified first aider at all times.
- Report any injuries or accidents sustained during any activity or whilst on the premises.
- Ensure that the implementation of the policy is reviewed regularly and monitored for effectiveness.
AS A PARTICIPANT/CARER OF PARTICIPANT YOU HAVE A DUTY TO:
- Take reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or not do.
- Co-operate with Sporting Chance staff members on health & safety issues.
- Correctly use all equipment provided / as instructed.
- Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Ensure you have adequate clothing, footwear, and fluids for each session.
- Actively encourage and enforce the health and safety policy at all times and where necessary.

FIRST AID & PPE: Location of first aid facilities: On site at all times; first aid bag. Location of telephones: On site at all times; Camp leaders always carry two mobile phones, one as back up.
